Have you ever asked yourself:

What am I carrying that I was never built to hold?

That is the question we explore in How You’re Designed. This workshop was created for women in leadership roles who find themselves asking this question all too often. It’s created for women who have an idea of the answer, but have not yet had the ability to see it clearly, name it out loud, and decide what to do about it. In short, this workshop is designed to turn what you already know about yourself into something you can act on.

What this workshop was designed to help you explore

As women, we are all doing too much at once. We are trying to set boundaries, navigate burnout, build companies, optimize our lives to do all the things and be all the things.

We’re attempting to live our lives in ways that our culture says we should be creating rather than building a life we can live based on our own actual capacity. Somewhere along the way, this has started to break us down, as we’re left feeling disconnected from the lives we’ve created, and wondering how we might want to build what’s left differently.

What the day does

This workshop is designed to help you explore their lives as they are, help them identify how they want them to be, and what steps are required to help move them towards that. The workshop moves through three stages, and each stage answers one part of the central question.

The first question: What am I carrying right now? The morning opens with a collage led by artist Asha McDonald and moves into the Wheel of Well-Being. The collage surfaces what is beneath your conscious awareness about your current life, and the wheel puts a structured shape around where your energy is actually going across eight areas — career, finance, friends, love, personal growth, health, recreation, and spirituality. Together they make your current load visible in a way that words alone cannot.

The second question: What was I built to hold? After a break, dr. sarah lloyd leads a conversation on Human Design that stays close to lived experience rather than chart mechanics. The purpose is to hand you a language for what you already sense about your rhythm and your capacity, and to show you where you have been overriding your own design without knowing it. You don’t need prior familiarity with Human Design to take this in.

The third question: Where does the load stop matching the design? The final part of this exploration is a friction map, and it’s where the day stops being conceptual. You look at the gap between what you are carrying and what you were built to carry, and you name the specific place where the mismatch lives. This is where the insight becomes a decision.

What you leave with

The physical items you’ll leave with your design, the workshop materials, your art and a commitment card in your own handwriting that names what you are putting down and why it was never yours to carry. We also believe you’ll leave with better mental capacity and emotional awareness to understand what’s happening in your life, as well as how to start making changes. Post workshop, the facilitators will host followup sessions with you to see how where you’re at a week late.
